Who are the Glacier Guides? We founded Glacier Guides in 1983 because no one else was providing the kind of ecologically sensitive backcountry guiding and interpretation that Glacier National Park deserved. In those days there were just three of us, but our hunch that an outfit like ours was needed turned out to be correct. Four years later we expanded to include rafting on the area's two Wild and Scenic rivers. Today, with more than seventy guides and support people on our staff, we provide the area's most comprehensive and professional hiking, backpacking, fishing and rafting services.
At Glacier Guides, Inc. and Montana Raft Co., we owe our success to our staff. We're not just a company, we're friends. Many of our guides are students or teachers in the offseason, dovetailing their schedules with the summer season here in West Glacier. Others ski, hike, fish or raft professionally in other parts of the country the rest of the year. All are dedicated outdoors people who hone their skills constantly, sharing hard won insights with you , our guests.
As we prepare for a new season, we're once again excited to share with you the beauty and grandeur that is Glacier.
But as we like to say: "You won't know if you don't go."
